時間 Time:2023.8.16(三/WED)14:00-15:30
E-YA! Restaurant
The many and beautiful traditional designs in Paiwan culture are seen in everyday life in a variety of ways and materials, such as the embroidery on clothing, carvings on wooden and stone vessels used on a daily basis, and pottery.
For this class, we collect all kinds of paper to be soaked and made into pulp. We then make it into paper on screens we also have made on our own. While wet and pliable, the paper is pressed and patted against wood or stone with carvings to create an imprint on the paper.

We dry out local plants such as shell ginger, Old World forked fern, the fruit of the coastal she-oak, and stone oak, and, through natural methods, bring out the natural curves of the plants. We also teach participants about the relationship between plants and Indigenous people’s lives and about the use of color. The resulting garlands shine with a sense of untainted rawness.

Paiwan Shell Ginger Weaving
時間 Time:2023.8.20(日/SUN)15:00-16:30
Shatao Lazurite Art Workshop
Awaken shell ginger with the warmth of your hands!
Items made of shell ginger have a sense of wholeness, simplicity, and refinement and are also useful while exuding an artistic attitude toward life. In just a simple shell ginger leaf sheath, the weaving skill and lines seem to tell the story of a faraway Indigenous community. Despite the plainness, nature’s fashionable curves and a strong sense of design are exhibited, and a novel sensual experience comes through a blend of materials.

In order to continue the fragrance of shell flower leaves, the cultural elements of different materials are combined to create more possibilities. We wish through the power of Tabuli to drive the kinetic energy of the tribal industry, let clansmen and public people change the output value and usability of shell flower. |
